  • SHOULD I REPLACE MY BOILER?
    It depends really! Anyone can get a new boiler if they feel they need an upgrade. However, it’s usually only cost effective to upgrade your boiler if your current one is regularly faulty, or if it’s over 10 years old. Constantly replacing faulty components can end up being much more costly than replacing the boiler in the first place, so an efficient upgrade can often be the best option.
  • WHICH BOILERS DO YOU RECOMMEND?
    At Thermofix we really like Baxi and recommend the 800 range for most of our installs. They come with a 10 year warranty and a build quality that is very hard to beat. We are Baxi approved installers and have a fantastic working relationship with the Baxi team. We are also big fans of the new Worcester range and some of the features they offer make them a better fit for certain jobs (they’re probably the best looking too!). Last but not least for a more modest budget we highly recommend the Main ecoCompact boiler. Probably the most popular choice for our landlords the ecoCompact boasts the same build quality as the Baxi and comes with a 5 year warranty. In our opinion it is head and shoulders above any boiler in the same price range.
  • ARE THERMOFIX GAS SAFE REGISTERED?
    We sure are! All of our installers are professional, experienced central heating engineers with Gas Safe certification. Our Gas Safe number is 546280 and you can find us listed on the Gas Safe website.
  • WHICH AREAS DO YOU COVER?
    If your postcode begins with an S then we cover it. The bulk of our customer base is in Sheffield but we regularly find our way out into the peak district and surrounding areas.
  • HOW CAN I REDUCE MY BILLS?
    There’s sooo many ways we can help you with this! Whether its fitting TRV’s on your radiators, Smart thermostats, flushing your radiators or fitting a brand new energy efficient boiler. Call us today and we can talk you through your options.
  • DO YOU CHARGE A CALLOUT FEE?
    No. If you have a boiler issue we will attend free of charge (usually within 24 hours). We will assess the issue and give you a no-obligation quote to get your boiler back up and running.
  • CAN I CALL THERMOFIX FOR SOME ADVICE?
    Of course! Whether its telling you how to top your pressure up or swap the batteries in your thermostat, if we can sort you out over the phone then we will! Not all boiler faults need a callout and if we can save you time and £££ then we will!
  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY BOILER SERVICED?
    We recommend you get your boiler serviced annually. There’s so many reasons why its a good idea but the biggest would be because we can pick up on anything that needs attention before it becomes a bigger problem… or expense! Also if your boiler is under a manufacturers warranty this will keep the warranty valid.
